ACTION
I guess this means people moving around a lot? It’s a genre, so I’ve plopped some things in here.
Now that I’ve got my attitude out of the way, the truth is I adore writing action. I spend an inordinate amount of time doing the director’s job placing people and things and then moving them around. I suppose this comes from my time directing stage plays, where every action meant something, said something unspoken about that character or situation. And I even do it for “action scenes”. Fun Fun Fun.
I also fully realize what I write isn’t necessarily what another sees in their mind, but from where I sit I’m conveying something important, something unspoken, that an actor and director can build upon.
The following scripts have an element of “action” in them, in other words, people moving around, a lot. Maybe fighting. Maybe dancing. Maybe a lot of video game fantasy explosions. But, there’s stuff moving so - action.
